Bluebeam Software has been hard at work on a Mac version of Bluebeam Revu. We saw a sneak peek of an early Alpha version of Bluebeam Revu for Mac at the 2014 Extreme Conference in Hollywood, CA. As heavy Mac users ourselves at Orange Blade Consultants, we’re just as excited as everyone else that this is happening.

So, here is where you come in. Want to help Bluebeam for Mac make it to it’s first release? Are you a dedicated Mac user who has been waiting for a Native Mac version of Revu? If you have an ability to articulate and solve problems, and a commitment to making Revu an even better workflow solution for the Mac platform, then Bluebeam Software need you. Apply to be one of the first-ever Revu for Mac beta testers.

Bluebeam Revu Mac delivers core PDF editing, markup and collaboration capabilities to enhance your paperless workflows. Add comments to your documents with customizable markup and measurement tools and organize high-quality, smart PDFs using Revu’s editing features. Bluebeam, a Nemetschek Company, has sent notice to Bluebeam Revu for Mac users that the company is ending support of a native macOS version of Revu. Stopping Mac Version. Here’s the announcement: We have made the difficult decision to stop development on future versions of Bluebeam Revu for Mac. We will release Revu for Mac 2.1 in Q2. Below are the hardware requirements for the Bluebeam for Mac beta program:

  • OS X 10.9 and above
  • 2GB of memory
  • 8GB of available space

  • MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, Early 2009 or later)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or later)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
  • Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)

We understand that Revu for Mac provides many benefits to your business. To minimize any disruption, we will provide the following:

Bluebeam Revu Free Trial

  • Your Revu for Mac licenses will continue working, but we will not release updates after March 2020.
  • All customers on Revu for Mac 2.0 have access to the 2.1 release, which includes bug fixes and improved compatibility with macOS Catalina. Customers on Revu for Mac 1.0 are able to purchase the Mac 2.1 upgrade until March 1st, 2020. If you are interested, contact sales@bluebeam.com or your local reseller.
    This is only available for upgrades; maintenance sales and renewals are no longer available as of March 1, 2019.

Support Options

  • Will I be able to continue running Revu for Mac if I update my OS?
    Revu for Mac 2.x is compatible with these versions of macOS. However, when a new version of macOS is released it’s not uncommon for there to be some changes that may affect performance, and Bluebeam will attempt to address any OS related performance issues while it is in Core Support.
  • After the product reaches its end of life, what resources are available to me?
    All support documentation related to Revu for Mac will remain available on our Support Site.
  • Can I still buy seats of Revu for Mac?

    New seat purchases are no longer available. Upgrades from Mac 1 to Mac 2 remain available for purchase until March 1st, 2020. If you are interested, contact sales@bluebeam.com or your local reseller.

  • Is it possible to run Revu for Windows on my Mac?
    It is possible to run Revu for Windows on a Mac via Boot Camp or Parallels. However, there are potential variables in these scenarios that may cause compatibility conflicts with our software. Due to this, Bluebeam cannot extensively troubleshoot or resolve user issues in these environments.
